Marlow Ropes has become the official supplier to INEOS Team UK, the British challenger for the 36th America\u2019s Cup.<\/p>\n
The British rope manufacturer will be working with the team skippered by Sir Ben Ainslie to develop bespoke, sustainable rigging solutions to race the latest generation of 75\u2019 monohull foiling America\u2019s Cup Class boats. Mr Ainslie\u2019s relationship with Marlow stretches back many years from its his days of competitive sailing.<\/p>\n
Paul Honess, leisure marine director at Marlow Ropes, commented: \u201cWe are very proud to be the official supplier to INEOS TEAM UK. Our collaboration with the America\u2019s Cup teams in the past has contributed to the development of the Marlow Grand Prix range that is used on the wider race boat circuit at all levels.<\/p>\n
\u201cDeveloping sustainable products and bespoke rigging solutions that are tested on some of the most demanding systems found on yachts today is crucial to Marlow\u2019s future product innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n
The agreement follows the companies\u2019 technical partnership for the 35th America\u2019s Cup cycle.<\/p>\n
Marlow Ropes has also become an official supplier to New York-based yacht club American Magic, which will also be competing in the America\u2019s Cup.<\/p>\n
Marlow Ropes is a finalist in the Innovation Award category of the Ocean Awards for its Blue Ocean Dockline, a marine industry first. The eco-conscious rope is made using 100% recycled waste plastic bottles.<\/p>\n
