Discovery Yachts Group will launch a new boutique superyacht with push button sailing at London On-Water.<\/p>\n
The Britannica 74 is designed to be easily handled by two people and features push button sailing and just three control ropes for minimum effort.<\/p>\n
Sean Langdon, brainchild of the yacht and managing director of Discovery Yachts Group, said: \u201cThere was a gap in the market between what Spirit offers in terms of classic yachts and our own modern luxury market.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Britannica will sit firmly between these two markets as a classic yacht with all the benefits state of the art technology has to offer. And you don\u2019t need a vast crew to sail her.\u201d<\/p>\n
Production on the first hull is expected to start in September, to deliver the first finished yacht in time for the Southampton Boat show in September 2019.<\/p>\n
The launch event at St Katherine\u2019s Dock on Friday 11 May will feature a scale model and complete designs available to view.<\/p>\n
