Marlow Ropes is the official supplier status to British America’s Cup challenger INEOS Team UK, led by Sir Ben Ainslie.

The alliance follows a successful technical partnership at the 35th America’s Cup and will see the Sussex-based company develop bespoke rigging for the latest generation of 75ft monohull foiling America’s Cup Class boat.

“Our collaboration with the America’s Cup teams in the part has contributed to the development of the Marlow Grand Prix range that is used on the wider race boat circuit at all levels,” said Paul Honess, Marlow‘s leisure marine director.

“Developing sustainable products and bespoke rigging solution that are tested on some of the most demanding systems found on yachts today is crucial to Marlow‘s future product innovation.”

Sustainability

Sustainability is of key importance to Marlow and 2019 sees the company promoting its reuse, repurpose, recycle mission. This year the company is launching its eco-conscious dockline range made from 100% recycled plastic and the company will be reporting sustainability performance indicators for the first time.

Chris Noble, INEOS Team UK‘s rigger, said that it was an easy decision to partner with Marlow Ropes. “As a world leading rope manufacturer, the quality of their standard product and development capabilities allows us to work together to fully optimise the rigging on all our platforms.

“We look forward to developing the relationship further over the next few years as we head towards New Zealand.
